India and Iran Should Work Together for World Peace: Acharya Lokeshji

New Delhi, September 12, 2026: Founder of Ahimsa Vishwa Bharti and the World Peace Center, Gurugram, and global peace ambassador Jain Acharya Lokeshji met with the President of Iran, His Excellency Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, late Friday night at The Oberoi Hotel in New Delhi.

The special meeting took place during an informal interaction organized by the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in India on the occasion of the BRICS Summit. During the meeting, Jain Acharya Lokeshji, on behalf of India’s first World Peace Center and Ahimsa Vishwa Bharti, invited President Masoud Pezeshkian to attend the World Peace Summit. The Iranian President graciously accepted the invitation.

President Masoud Pezeshkian appreciated the global efforts being made by Jain Acharya Dr. Lokeshji for world peace and humanity. He said that Acharya Lokeshji has continuously worked to spread the message of peace, non-violence and humanity from the United States to Iran. He further stated, “The relationship between India and Iran is not merely a diplomatic relationship, but is based on thousands of years of shared civilizational, cultural and humanitarian heritage. Iran attaches great importance to its relations with India.”

On the occasion, Acharya Lokeshji said that lasting peace in the world cannot be achieved through political and diplomatic efforts alone. It requires continuous dialogue among religious leaders, spiritual organizations, intellectuals and all sections of society. He emphasized that differences should not become a cause of conflict, but should instead be transformed into an opportunity for dialogue and mutual understanding.

He said, “The world will find solutions through dialogue, not war; humanity will progress through compassion, not hatred. If India and Iran move forward together with a message of peace, it can have a positive impact on the entire world.”

On the occasion, a copy of the book “Ambassador of Peace Acharya Lokesh” was presented to His Excellency President Masoud Pezeshkian.

Several religious leaders, intellectuals, and prominent representatives from the industry and business community were also present on the occasion. The interaction is being viewed as an important initiative towards strengthening peace, cultural exchange and humanitarian cooperation between India and Iran.

अहिंसा विश्व भारती एवं विश्व शांति केंद्र, गुरुग्राम के संस्थापक विश्व शांतिदूत जैन आचार्य लोकेश जी ने शुक्रवार देर रात को नई दिल्ली के द ओबेरॉय होटल में ईरान के राष्ट्रपति महामहिम डॉ. मसूद पेज़ेशकियान से मुलाकात की। ब्रिक्स सम्मेलन के दौरान यह विशेष मुलाकात भारत स्थित ईरान के इस्लामी गणराज्य के दूतावास द्वारा आयोजित अनौपचारिक संवाद के दौरान हुई।इस अवसर पर विश्व शांति शिखर सम्मेलन के लिए भारत के पहले विश्व शांति केंद्र एवं अहिंसा विश्व भारती संस्था की ओर से जैनाचार्य लोकेशजी ने राष्ट्रपति मसूद को आमंत्रित किया जिसे राष्ट्रपति ने सहर्ष स्वीकार किया।

ईरान के राष्ट्रपति मसूद पेज़ेशकियान ने विश्व शांति एवं मानवता के लिए जैन आचार्य डॉ. लोकेश जी द्वारा किए जा रहे वैश्विक प्रयासों की सराहना करते हुए कहा कि आचार्य लोकेशजी ने अमेरिका से लेकर ईरान तक शांति, अहिंसा और मानवता का संदेश पहुंचाने का निरंतर प्रयास किया है। “भारत और ईरान के संबंध केवल राजनयिक संबंध नहीं, बल्कि हजारों वर्षों की साझा सभ्यतागत, सांस्कृतिक और मानवीय विरासत पर आधारित हैं। ईरान भारत के साथ अपने संबंधों को अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण मानता है |

इस अवसर पर आचार्य लोकेशजी ने कहा कि विश्व में स्थायी शांति केवल राजनीतिक और कूटनीतिक प्रयासों से संभव नहीं है, बल्कि इसके लिए धार्मिक नेताओं, आध्यात्मिक संस्थाओं, बुद्धिजीवियों और समाज के सभी वर्गों के बीच निरंतर संवाद आवश्यक है। उन्होंने कहा कि मतभेदों को संघर्ष का कारण बनाने के बजाय संवाद और समझ का माध्यम बनाया जाना चाहिए। उन्होंने कहा कि “दुनिया को युद्ध से नहीं, संवाद से समाधान मिलेगा; नफरत से नहीं, करुणा से मानवता आगे बढ़ेगी। भारत और ईरान यदि मिलकर शांति का संदेश लेकर आगे बढ़ें तो इसका सकारात्मक प्रभाव पूरी दुनिया पर पड़ सकता है।”

अवसर पर “Ambassador of Peace Acharya Lokesh” नामक पुस्तक महामहिम को भेंट की गई।

इस अवसर पर विभिन्न धार्मिक नेताओं, बुद्धिजीवियों तथा उद्योग एवं व्यवसाय जगत के प्रमुख प्रतिनिधि उपस्थित रहे। यह संवाद भारत और ईरान के बीच शांति, सांस्कृतिक आदान-प्रदान तथा मानवीय सहयोग की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण पहल के रूप में देखा जा रहा है।
